AdvansHER: Empowering Women, Transforming Futures

Advans Ghana is committed to a powerful principle: when women thrive, entire communities flourish. Through AdvansHER, a transformative women-centered initiative, the institution is equipping female entrepreneurs across Ghana with the tools and skills they need to unlock their full potential.

Empowering Women with Practical Skills

To date, over 100 women entrepreneurs have participated in the AdvansHER program. Through engaging and hands-on training sessions, participants have developed crucial business skills, including:

  • Digital Marketing Mastery: Learning effective strategies for social media engagement and sales conversion to grow their businesses online.

  • Business Formalization: Receiving step-by-step guidance to register and structure their businesses for long-term sustainability.

  • Accurate Record-Keeping: Gaining essential financial literacy to manage their operations more effectively and make informed decisions.

Each participant also received a comprehensive business toolkit, including planning templates, marketing resources, and simple finance tools—designed to act as a practical, take-home business coach.

Impact from the Ground Up

Participants have shared how the program has transformed their approach to entrepreneurship:

“AdvansHER has really helped me improve how I run my business. The sessions on record-keeping and digital marketing opened my eyes to things I never paid attention to. Now, I track my sales better and use Facebook and WhatsApp to attract new customers.”
— Small Business Owner, Kumasi

“Before joining AdvansHER, I didn’t even know how to formalize my business or manage my finances. Now I’ve registered my business, I keep proper records, and most importantly—I feel confident and ready to grow!”
— Boutique Owner, Accra

Opening More Doors for Women

Beyond training, Advans Ghana has taken bold steps to enhance financial inclusion. The organization has revised its collateral policy to improve access to funding for women entrepreneurs. Additionally, the EduSave savings product—designed specifically for women—is helping mothers invest in their children’s education and build a secure financial future.

A Vision for Scalable Impact

Advans Ghana is scaling the AdvansHER program to reach even more women-led businesses. The next phase will offer personalized business advisory services, tailored financial products, and ongoing mentorship.

With the support of DBG and other strategic partners, the institution is breaking barriers, opening doors, and nurturing the growth of women entrepreneurs across the country.
